Armed suicidal subject situation peacefully resolved on Bay City's Westside.

Officers from the Bay City Police Department responded to the 1900 block of S. Raymond St on Bay City's Westside around 6 p.m. for a report of a suicidal subject armed with a long gun.

Bay County Central Dispatch was in telephone contact with the subject's wife who advised he had stated he wanted to kill himself and was sitting on a bed with a long gun next to him.

During conversation, the wife advised Central Dispatch that she had managed to take the gun from her husband. Central Dispatch was able to convince the wife to leave the residence, but the husband refused to exit and locked himself inside.

Central Dispatch remained in contact by telephone with the subject for a few minutes before he terminated conversation.

Officers on scene decided to make entry into the residence before the subject could locate the gun his wife had taken from him. Four officers breached the door to the residence and located the subject in the living room area of the house. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Bay Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Two loaded long guns were located in the residence and logged into property for safe keeping.
