Prescription drug take back. April 30th 2011, from 10am to 2pm in the lobby of the Law Enforcement Center 501 3rd St

On Saturday, April 30th 2011, from 10a.m. to 2p.m., the Bay City Police Department will partner with the Bay County Sheriff's Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration to coordinate a one-day Controlled Substance Take-Back Initiative.

This collaborative effort will provide a safe and anonymous way to dispose of potentially dangerous controlled substances. Specifically, any medication in pill or tablet form that requires a prescription, and is expired, unwanted, or unused will be collected and destroyed.

A collection box provided by the DEA will be located inside the Bay County Law Enforcement Center at 501 Third St Bay City, MI. The drop off and pick up of the medications will be supervised by officials from both the DEA and local law enforcement. The medications do not need to be in the original bottles, ant type of container is acceptable.

Residents from any city or town can use to collection box at the Law Enforcement Center. The Controlled Substance Take Back Initiative will provide an opportunity for the public to dispose of controlled substances and other medications for safe destruction by law enforcement officers. Destruction of the medications will be done in accordance with all federal and state regulations.
