On Thursday, March 31, 2011, at approximately 8:00 pm, Walnut Sheriff's Station deputies were contacted by a citizen who reported that persons unknown were operating an extensive marijuana grow in a residence in the 13000 block of Otterbein Avenue, Rowland Heights.

Deputies contacted the Industry Sheriff's Station Narcotics crew who responded and assisted patrol deputies.

Sheriff's detectives obtained a search warrant and the team seized 721 high-value marijuana plants nearing maturity, with a street value of about $1.8 million. There was also sophisticated hydroponic and lighting equipment.

Representatives from Southern California Edison advised that the suspects had also stolen an estimated $25,000.00 in electricity.
