Toddler dies in traggic accident outside of Sylmar home. 
On Friday, March 18th, at approximately 8:22PM, a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian collision occurred in the 14200 block of Sayre Street. The vehicle was a Honda Odyssey van, and the pedestrian was a 18-month old boy. The collision occurred in the driveway of the family’s house. The van was negotiating a backing maneuver when it struck the toddler.
The boy was transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the car is identified as 20-year old Sylmar resident, Alfonso Lopez, Jr.
Valley Traffic Detectives are searching for any possible witnesses to the collision.
