Free boater safety course to held on April 23rd,2011 from 9am-3pm

Sheriff Lee Teschendorf in an effort to ensure a safe boating season, announces that a boaters safety course will be held on April 23rd.
Kids ages 12 and older can sign up for the free class, which will cover topics including: know your boat before heading out,operating your boat, legal requirements, boat emergencies, enjoying water sports and personal water craft.
The course will be taught by members of the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office Marine Division. Students who successfully complete the course and pass the final exam will receive a water safety certificate.

Class will be held at the Richville Conservation Club, 3270 W Sanilac Rd (M46) Vassar Mi. on April 23rd from 9 am until 3pm.
The class itself is free but it is suggested the child either bring a bag lunch or purchase food at a concession stand which will be available. Adults are welcome to attend with their children and earn a certificate if space is available.
