Winter weather advisory in effect from 7 pm this evening to 10 am cdt Monday.
Location, extreme eastern Kansas through the Kansas city metropolitan area into west central Missouri
Timing, rain is expected to change over to snow late this evening and tonight. The change over should occur across eastern Kansas initially and then spread to the east through the overnight hours.
Snow, 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected to fall by Monday morning. The heaviest amounts are expected to occur across eastern Kansas and west central Missouri with less amounts into central Missouri.
Impacts, snow may be heavy at times restricting visibilities late tonight. Periods of heavy snow may accumulate several inches of a slushy wet snow which can make travel hazardous.
Other impacts, the morning commute in and around the Kansas city metropolitan area could become treacherous due to the heavy wet snow. Allow extra time to as accidents will likely cause significant slow downs in traffic flow.
