CPOA Memorial Run (5k, 10k and Kid's Challenge) & BBQ to honor and remember peace officers fallen in the line of duty 
On Saturday, May 7, 2011 the California Peace Officers Association (CPOA) is sponsoring a family oriented event open to all friends of law enforcement at Shadow Cliffs Regional Park in Pleasanton CA. The event features a 5k Run/Walk, a 10k Run as well as a Kid's Fun Run/Walk. The Kids Fun Run is a challenging 1-mile course inside Shadow Cliffs Park for kids up to 12 years old.
The first 500 pre-registered runners will receive a t-shirt and all runners will have a chance to win raffle prizes. The race fee is $30 for adults and $15 for the Kids Fun Run if you pre-register before May 2nd. Outback Steakhouse is sponsoring a BBQ following the event, free for all registered runners. Non-participants can purchase lunch tickets ($10 for adults, $7 for kids under 10).
All proceeds from the event go directly to Nor Cal C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors), an organization whose sole mission is to assist with the rebuilding of lives of surviving family members of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. This year’s event will specifically honor 9 California Police Officers killed in the line of duty in 2010.
