Full Notification

The Swissvale Police Department is notifying residents of an attempted child luring incident. On 02/27/2011 at 640 PM a dark blue work type van with tinted windows and chrome wheels was parked at Highland Ave and Hawthorne Ave. As a juvenile male was walking home on Hawthorne Ave he observed a male exited the sliding door of the van and began to chase the juvenile male on Highland Ave. The juvenile male ran to his house and was able to get away from the adult. The driver was described as a white male with a buzz hair cut with glasses and wearing a black jacket.
A blue van was also seen in the Woodstock Ave area in the past week in the afternoon as school was letting out.
