DETAILS:

On 02-23-11 approximately 5:01 PM, the San Leandro Police Department received a 911 call that a man had been stabbed in the 1300 block of Lillian Ave. Upon arrival, Officers located the victim, Paul Meyer (46 year old white male) lying on the floor of his residence with a stab wound to his chest. Officers provided medical attention to Meyer until relieved by the Alameda County Fire Department and AMR medical personnel. Meyer was transported to Eden Hospital where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.

The suspect, Scott Roberts (41 year old white male, San Leandro resident) was taken into custody in the 1900 block of Louise St., as he fled on foot from the homicide scene. Roberts had a knife in his possession at the time he was contacted by Police. It appears to be the knife used during the homicide. Roberts has previous arrests for drug violations, assault with a deadly weapon, and driving under the influence.

This incident is actively being investigated and it appears at this time that the victim and suspect got into a physical dispute inside the residence. The reason for the dispute is still being investigated by Detectives.
