Wind Advisory in effect until 4pm. Winds in excess of 30mph expected. Hard Freeze Warning for overnight hours.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory now until 4:00pm this afternoon and a Hard Freeze Warning in effect from 9:00pm this evening until 8:00am tomorrow morning.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 20-30mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially on icy roads.
A Hard Freeze Warning is issued when temperatures are forecast to fall below 10 degrees. These extremely cold temperatures may cause uninsulated and exposed pipes to freeze and burst.

Precautionary Measures:
To prevent freezing of pipes, either wrap exposed pipes or allow faucets to slowly drip. Ensure irrigation systems are turned off and winterized. Preparations should be made now to provide adequate shelter or arrangements for any outdoor pets and protect any plants that are sensitive to these extreme temperatures. If you must go outside, be sure to wear gloves and other protective clothing.
