Suspect arrested by deputies in Palmdale for theft, was wanted in LA City kidnap/sexual assault & Pasadena burglary.
Sheriff’s detectives arrest LA City kidnap/sexual assault suspect during Palmdale theft investigation. Also wanted in Pasadena.
Palmdale sheriff’s detectives took Suspect David Jund into custody Thursday at about noon, after they were advised by LAPD detectives that Jund was wanted for a kidnap/sexual assault that stemmed from a 2010 incident in the Central area. Sheriff’s detectives linked Jund to the assault after he was identified in a theft case that had occurred near 10th Street West and Rancho Vista Blvd, Palmdale, on January 20th, 2011.
The January incident involved Suspect Jund allegedly siphoning fuel from a diesel truck parked behind a local Palmdale store. When the owner of the truck interrupted the theft, Jund allegedly fled in his white tow truck but not before a witness was able to get the license plate of his vehicle.
Detective Jeffery Hutchinson, Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, worked with the witness to match the license plate to a GMC tow truck owned by Suspect David Jund.
After Jund had been identified as the driver of the vehicle, Detective Hutchinson was also able to link him to two separate arrest warrants.
One warrant was from the Pasadena Police Department for a burglary case ($185,000.00 bail), and the other one was from the Los Angeles Police Department for a kidnap/sexual assault that occurred in August of last year ($3,050,000 bail).
Sheriff’s deputies from the Palmdale Station located Jund’s truck this afternoon in the driveway of a residence near 103rd Street East and Avenue S-14, in the community of Littlerock. Palmdale sheriff’s deputies surrounded, then entered the residence and arrested Suspect Jund.
