...LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE EARLY WEDNESDAY ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA...

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS SOUTH GEORGIA TONIGHT AND PULL A COLD FRONT ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA ON WEDNESDAY.

THE RAIN IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE OVER TO SNOW ACROSS NORTHWEST GEORGIA AROUND 6 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING... THEN SPREAD EASTWARD ACROSS THE REST OF NORTH GEORGIA THROUGH 10 AM. ALTHOUGH SNOW MAY BE SEEN AS FAR SOUTH AS LA GRANGE TO MONTICELLO TO WASHINGTON...

THE TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE TOO WARM TO ALLOW ACCUMULATION FOR MOST AREAS. THE GREATER THREAT OF ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL BE OVER NORTH GEORGIA... GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF A CEDARTOWN TO CUMMING
TO HOMER LINE WHERE TEMPERATURES COULD FALL INTO THE MID 30S.

HOWEVER... SNOW ACCUMULATIONS SHOULD BE LIGHT... POSSIBLE AN INCH OR LESS... AS MUCH MELTING IS EXPECTED DUE TO ABOVE FREEZING SURFACE AND GROUND TEMPERATURES. SLIGHTLY GREATER AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTH GEORGIA WHERE TEMPERATURE PROFILES COULD BE MORE FAVORABLE.

RESIDENTS AND ANYONE PLANNING TRAVEL ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA ON WEDNESDAY... ARE ADVISED TO STAY ABREAST OF THIS POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS WINTER WEATHER SITUATION BY STAYING TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR OTHER LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS FOR THE LATEST
FORECASTS AND STATEMENTS.
