Fremont PD promotes two new Sergeants
Earlier this week Michael Tegner and Michelle Griese were promoted to the rank of Sergeant with the Fremont Police Department. The two promotions came as a result of retirements that took place in late 2010.
Michael Tegner has been a Police Officer with Fremont for 13 years. Prior to being promoted, Sgt. Tegner has worked Patrol, Street Crimes, Investigations and as the Department's Semi-permanent Robbery/Homicide Detective in the Crimes Against Persons Unit for the last three years. Sgt. Tegner has also served as a Field Training Officer and as a member of the SWAT team. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Mass Communications prior to being hired by Fremont.
Michelle Griese has been a Police Officer with Fremont for more than nine years. Prior to being promoted, Sgt. Griese has worked as a Patrol Officer, Crime Scene Investigator, Field Training Officer, Hostage Negotiator and most recently as a Burglary Detective. Prior to being hired by Fremont, she graduated from CSU Hayward with a BS in Biochemistry. Sgt. Griese has a passion for cycling and spends much of her time off outdoors touring the roads of California.
