National Weather Service has expanded the Winter Storm Warning mainly for ice further South and East to include the rest of interior Mass West and North of Route 128. Much of the interior may remain below freezing for most of the storm. A wintery mix is expected with below freezing temperatures north and west of Route 128.

There is a possibility of flash freezing overnight in the Boston area after a change over from snow to freezing rain. Below freezing temps expected North and West of 128 snowfall totals are expected to be higher in this area. Expect 5 to 10 inches along the Route 2 and North with 3 to 5 inches expected along the Mass Pike. Boston can expect 2 to 4 inches of snow changing to rain late AM changing back to freezing rain this PM.

The concern is the potential for significant ice accretion with .5 to .75 inches of ice accretion expected across interior Mass North and West of route 128.
