Alert

The City of Vineland is implementing its snow emergency plan. Check your e-mail for more details

The national Weather Service has posted a winter storm warning for South Jersey including the City of Vineland. This winter storm warning is in effect from now until 1PM on Monday, December 27th.
This winter storm has the potential to bring heavy snow to our area with strengthening winds as the storm progresses. Blowing and drifting snow will reduce visibility to under one-quarter of a mile at times.
Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibility will make travel hazardous.
In anticipation of this storm, the City of Vineland is implementing its snow emergency plan.
This plan is designed to remove parked vehicles from specific streets during a snow emergency to allow Public Works equipment unrestricted access to remove snow and open roadways.
City Ordinance 694-52 prohibits parking on the following streets during a snow emergency:

Chestnut Ave. between Delsea Dr. and Main Rd.
East Ave. between Chestnut Ave. and Park Ave.
East Boulevard between Chestnut Ave. and Park Ave.
Elmer St. -Entire length
Landis Ave. between Delsea Dr. and Main Rd.
Park Ave. between Delsea Dr. and Main Rd.
West Ave. between Chestnut Ave. and Park Ave.
West Boulevard between Chestnut Ave. and Park Ave.
Wood St. - Entire length

All residents are encouraged to park all vehicles in off-street parking or in driveways to provide unrestricted access to Public Works equipment clearing snow.

All residents are encouraged to stay off the roadways to allow both County and Municipal Public Works equipment to treat the roadways and plow snow.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation, under the authority granted to the Commissioner of Transportation by NJSA Title 27:7-21,9, is requesting the New Jersey State, County, and Municipal Police to remove any abandoned or disabled vehicles from the State or Interstate roadways, Statewide. This request is for the duration of the winter storm and is effective from 12:00 noon Sunday, December 26, 2010 until 12:00 noon on Monday, December 27, 2010.
