PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT - INBOUND STORMS BRING WIND AND HEAVY RAIN
The Latest from www.Weatherbug.com :
“The opening round of what will become a very active weather weekend in the West is moving inland from the Pacific bringing heavy rain and snow to California. A more significant round of pelting downpours and major snowfall will grip the West this last weekend before Christmas.…Today and tonight alone, 1 to 2 inches will drench the northern coast with another 1 to 2 inches widespread up and down the California coastline on Saturday. This same soggy pattern will repeat itself on Sunday sending streams, creeks and rivers rising rapidly, possibly out of their banks causing flooding problems as well as promoting landslides along steep slopes. Remember, if you come across a flooded roadway, it`s best to "Turn Around, Don`t Drown."…
...Mother-nature won`t provide any respite from the unsettled weather pattern that has plagued the West during the past month, with yet, more mountain snow and valley rain likely to stick around for the long haul into the beginning of the Christmas holiday week.”
The San Mateo Police Department and the City of San Mateo urge you to use caution when traveling and be aware of the potential for flooding as we experience heavy rains and some wind throughout the weekend and into next week.
