Advisory

12/11/10-Subject arrested for residential burglary and theft of items from vehicle on Hillcrest Dr. and Fairview Way.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY SUSPECT ARRESTED

Date: December 13, 2010

From: Brad Rasmussen, Interim Chief of Police

On Saturday, December 11, 2010 at approximately 0025 hours Lakeport Police Department units were dispatched to investigate the report of a prowler at an occupied residence in the 200 block of Hillcrest Dr. During the investigation, officers located the suspect, Anthony James Aitchison 21 of Lakeport, outside of the residence but on the premises. Officers continued their investigation and determined that the suspect had made entry into the garage prior to their arrival. It is believed that the suspect’s actions were interrupted by the homeowner and that he was attempting to flee the location as the police units arrived on scene.

Officers located items of evidence on Aitchison’s person that connected him to the entry of and theft of items from a vehicle in the 400 block of Fairview Way. The department is investigating the possibility that Aitchison tampered with or entered other vehicles in the area of Fairview Way or Hillcrest Dr. In addition, we believe there is a possibility that Aitchison may have been involved in the multiple incidents of mail theft reported on December 3, 2010.

Aitchison, a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Youth Authority parolee with a commitment offense of robbery, was booked into the Lake County jail on charges of burglary, prowling, trespassing, possession of a controlled substance and violation of parole.

The department is continuing to investigate these incidents and asks that anyone with information contact us at (707) 263-5491.
