Caution is urged with recent snow and ice formation as well as dangerous wind chills.

The Williamson County Rescue Squad would like to encourage you to use EXTREME CAUTION while engaging in any activity outdoors, especially driving. Winter conditions have produced snow, ice, and wind chills that are both hazardous to driving conditions and your health.

... WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST MONDAY... ... WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST MONDAY...

* ACCUMULATIONS: ADDITIONAL INCH OR LESS... ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHLAND RIM AND NEAR THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU.

* IMPACTS: SLICK AND SNOW COVERED ROAD CONDITIONS. GUSTY WINDS WILL MAKE DRIVING MORE DIFFICULT... AND VISIBILITY MAY BE REDUCED BY PATCHY BLOWING SNOW. WIND CHILL VALUES WILL FALL BELOW ZERO TONIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW... SLEET... OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES... AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING. LOOSE OBJECTS SUCH AS HOLIDAY DECORATIONS SHOULD BE SECURED OR BROUGHT INDOORS.

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS... MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.

... COLD AND WINDY TONIGHT... SNOW LETTING UP SOME

.COLD AIR WILL CONTINUE TO POUR INTO MID TENNESSEE TONIGHT. AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CROSS THE REGION WITH SNOW SHOWERS AND GUSTY WINDS. MUCH OF THE MID STATE WILL GET AN ADDITIONAL INCH OR 2 OF SNOW... MAINLY PLATEAU AND ADJACENT AREAS.

ADDITIONALLY... FRIGID CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED. TEMPERATURES WILL BE THE COLDEST OF THE SEASON SO FAR... AND GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL DROP WIND CHILL VALUES INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS TODAY... AND BELOW ZERO TONIGHT. THE WINDS... OVER 30 MPH AT TIMES... WILL BE STRONG ENOUGH TO BLOW AROUND LOOSE OBJECTS SUCH AS LAWN FURNITURE AND GARBAGE CANS.

CONDITIONS WILL IMPROVE ON MONDAY... BUT THE FRIGID WEATHER WILL CONTINUE. LOWS MONDAY NIGHT WILL BE IN THE SINGLE DIGITS MANY AREAS.
