A City of Calabasas resident has reported receiving a phone call from a company in the 310 area code claiming to be contracted through the City of Calabasas to provide free “green” toilet upgrades to residents. The caller was persistent in trying to make arrangements to enter the Calabasas resident’s home under this false pretense. The City of Calabasas does not have such an upgrade program. The holiday season is a time criminals try to take advantage of people with scams conducted over the telephone. If you are a victim of fraud, report it to your local law enforcement agency.
