The Gloucester Township Police Department would like to invite the community to join us for a memorial honoring our K-9 Schultz, who was killed in the line of duty while apprehending a robbery suspect on November 30, 2010. The memorial ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm at the Gloucester Township Community Park, located at 400 Hickstown Road, Sicklerville, NJ 08081.
Parking for the public will be available in the park. Upon reaching parking capacity, overflow parking will be located at the former CYO lot of Camden County College on Peter Cheeseman Road. Busing to and from the Community Park will be provided from the overflow lot. The public is encouraged to arrive early if attending the memorial ceremony.
The roadways surrounding Community Park, Hickstown Road and Peter Cheeseman Road, will be open for those attending the ceremony. The roadways will not be open for normal traffic. Please use caution and be aware of pedestrian traffic in this area. Please expect delays if you plan on traveling in this area.
A procession of police vehicles and the remains of K-9 Schultz will begin at the Chews Landing Veterinary Hospital, 1179 Chews Landing Road, Laurel Springs, NJ 08021 at approximately 1:40. The procession is expected to arrive at Community Park at approximately 2:00 pm. The procession route is as follows:
-Chews Landing Road westbound past Gloucester Township Police Headquarters to Little Gloucester Road.
-Left onto Little Gloucester Road southbound to Erial Road.
-Right onto Erial Road northbound to Davistown Road.
-Left onto Davistown Road westbound to the Black Horse Pike
-The procession will reverse direction and proceed back onto Davistown Road eastbound to Erial Road.
-Right onto Erial Road southbound to Little Gloucester Road / Peter Cheeseman Road.
-Right onto Little Gloucester Road / Peter Cheeseman Road southbound.
-Peter Cheeseman Road southbound past Camden County College to Gloucester Township Community Park.

The Gloucester Township Municipal Offices will be closed from 1:00 pm until 03:30 pm, so that co-workers may attend the Memorial Ceremony. Emergency and Police Services will NOT be interrupted. Please dial 9-1-1 if you have a an Emergency, or call 856-228-4500 for any Police Non-Emergency.
