Release of High Risk Sex Offender

Lawrence Brown is due to be released from Chino State Prison on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 1200 hours. Mr. Brown will be classified and registered as a “High Risk” sex offender with the California Department of Justice. This is based on his arrest and conviction for the kidnapping and rape of two young girls.

Summary of Crimes: In October 1983, Brown abducted an 8-year-old girl as she played hide and seek near her home. He forced the victim to orally copulate him then raped her. In February 1984, Brown kidnapped a 7-year-old girl as she walked to school. He took her to a local cemetery where he told her if she did not comply with his commands, he would bury her there with the other children who had not listened to him. Brown drove her to a nearby parking lot where he attempted to rape her, but was unsuccessful. He sodomized her then forced her to orally copulate him. Brown left the victim in a shopping center, where she wandered around lost until contacted by an adult who called police.

Brown will register as a transient in Santa Ana, Irvine or Tustin. When he meets with his Parole Officer, he will specify the area he will stay in. Brown is likely to frequent the home located at 13071 Red Hill in Tustin. As a condition of his parole, Brown is not allowed to be at this location during school hours and he is not allowed to own or possess a van, SUV or similar vehicle. Brown will have a GPS device to regularly monitor his location.
