OAK RIDGE NORTH POLICE DEPARTMENT CRIME ACTIVITY REPORT

While on patrol I, Sgt. Barry, was contacted by Montgomery County Pct #3 Deputy Constable Cork. Deputy Cork advised he was out on Smith,Darian Cartell, DOB XXXXXX1989, who showed five outstanding Oak Ridge North warrants. I confirmed the warrants. Deputy Corn arrested Smith and transported him to my location which was Richards at Rayford. I then transported Smith to South County Jail where he was booked into the jail on the outstanding ORNPD warrants, which had a total fine amount of $1,431.00.

On 11/05/10 Myself, Sr. Officer Nation, and Sgt. Hubbard checked out at 11059 Darby Loop in reference to a warrant service on David Robert Salerno, w/m, dob XXXX/59. We made contact with Mr. Salerno at his front door and he identified himself by TDL #XXXXXX to be the defendant. I executed the following four active Oak Ridge North Municipal Warrants on him: #902574-01 - Motor Vehicle Inspection Violation, #902574-02 - No Driver's License, #902574-03 - Fail To Maintain Financial Responsibility, and #902574V01 - Violate Promise To Appear for a total of $1,042.00. In lieu of going to jail Mr. Salerno requested to pay his fines to the court. I transported Mr. Salerno to the Oak Ridge North Municipal Court. At the Court we were met by the Deputy Court Clerk and she placed Mr. Salerno on a payment plan. Mr. Salerno was then released by the Court.

On 11-05-10 at approx. 1922 hours I, Officer McGrew, was patrolling southbound on Maplewood Dr. at the intersection of Maplewood Dr. and Hillside Dr. I observed a blue Buick 4 DR, bearing Texas license plate number DBZ030, traveling northbound on Maplewood Dr. passing my location. While running the vehicle's rear license plate through my mobile data computed for a vehicle check, I observed that the liability insurance for the vehicle showed to be unconfirmed for 45 days or more. This indicates that there has been a laps in the policy for 45 days or more of no coverage. The liability insurance carrier for the vehicle showed to have been State Farm, policy number 5310088021001. Due to the liability insurance violation, I initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and we came to a stop at the intersection of Maplewood Dr. and Alana Ln.
Upon making contact with the vehicle, I advised the driver of the reason for the stop, The driver then identified himself as Shawn Hughes, Texas Driver's License number XXXXXX. Hughes then handed me an expired liability insurance card that expired on 02-09-2000. I observed that Hughes appeared to be very nervous at this time. I observed Hughes' hands shaking as he handed me documents from the vehicle. I asked Hughes if there was anything in the vehicle that should not be there and he advised that there was not. I then asked Hughes again if there was anything in the vehicle that should not be there and he again stated that there was not. I asked Hughes if I could check the vehicle for contraband and he advised that I could not. I then asked Hughes again if there was anything in the vehicle and Hughes advised that there were marijuana cigarettes in a black bag, located in the vehicle. Due to Hughes' confession of the possession of marijuana, I conducted a search of the black bag for marijuana. While searching the black bag, I observed a clear plastic bag that contained two marijuana cigarettes. I also observed that the bag contained a pack of Zig Zag rolling papers, commonly used for rolling marijuana. I then found a small wood box that contained a marijuana pipe and a small amount of marijuana. The box was located on the floorboard of the vehicle, between the front passenger seat of the center console. Due to Hughes possessing marijuana, I placed him in custody for possession of marijuana. Hughes was cited for failing to maintain financial responsibility on the vehicle. His vehicle was towed by Cody's Wrecker Service to 28075 Robinson Rd., Conroe, TX. I then transported Hughes to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office jail in The Woodlands, TX. This incident was recorded on Unit 75's digital camera system. The marijuana, box with pipe, and pack of zig zag papers were placed in the Oak Ridge North Police Department's evidence locker.

I arrested Mr. Queen and he requested to pay his fines to the court in lieu of going to jail. Constable Unit 8324 allowed Mr. Queen to leave his vehicle unattended in a private parking lot. We transported Mr. Queen to the Oak Ridge North Municipal Court.
