OAK RIDGE NORTH POLICE DEPARTMENT CRIME ACTIVITY REPORT

On 11/04/10 at approximately 1130 hours I, Sr. Officer Nation, was notified that Deputy Houston with MCSO was conducting a traffic stop on Grogans Mill at Sawmill Rd. in The Woodlands, TX. The driver (sole occupant), who was identified as Steven Mark Thumann, w/m, dob xxxx/58, showed to have an active Oak Ridge North Capias Pro Fine Warrant. ORN Capias Warrant #90271901 for Expired Registration in the amount of $294.00 was confirmed. I went en route to Deputy Houston's location. Upon my arrival, at approximately 1155 hours, I took custody of Mr. Thumann. In lieu of going to jail Mr. Thumann requested to pay his fines to the court. I transported him to the Oak Ridge North Municipal Court. Deputy Houston remained on scene for the owner of the vehicle to arrive, so he could release the vehicle.
We arrived at the court at approximately 1205 hours. Shortly thereafter Mr. Thumann paid $294.00 to the court and was released.

On 11/04/10 at approximately 1155 hours I, Sr. Officer Nation, checked out with Officer Teske on a traffic stop located in front of 27331 Robinson Rd. The driver of the violator vehicle, Sean Alan Gordon, w/m, dob xxxx/82, had two confirmed Oak Ridge North Municipal Warrants: #8000386VO - Fail To Yield At Intersection - Stop Sign and #8000386-AVO - Violate Promise To Appear for a total of $616.00. Mr. Gordon requested to pay his fines to the court in lieu of going to jail. I transported Mr. Gordon to the Oak Ridge North Municipal Court. At the scene, Officer Teske released Mr. Gordon's vehicle to his passengers. Upon our arrival to the court, Mr. Gordon paid his fines in full and was released.

On 11-04-10 at approx. 2109 hours I, Officer McGrew, was on patrol in the parking lot of AMF Bowl (27000 IH 45 east frontage road). I observed a gold Chevrolet 4 DR, bearing Texas license plate number 025MFN, backed into a parking space on the north side of the building. I observed that the vehicle was occupied by two white males that were seated in a slouching position. I observed that the males did not appear to be exiting the vehicle. Due to the high volume of vehicle burglaries in this parking lot, I parked my patrol vehicle (not blocking the gold Chevrolet), exited, and walked over to make contact with the males.
Upon making contact with the two males, I could immediately detect a strong odor burnt marijuana and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside of the vehicle. I asked the two males what they were doing. The male seated in the driver seat, later identified as Nathan Clapsaddle, Texas Driver's License number xxxxxxxx, stated that they were going inside to bowl. I observed a green cup in the center console, next to Clapsaddle, that appeared to be full of a beverage. I asked Clapsaddle if there was alcohol in the beverage and he advised that there was. I then asked Clapsaddle if there was any marijuana in the vehicle and advised that there was not. I asked Clapsaddle if I could check the vehicle for marijuana. He hesitated and then advised that I could. I asked Clapsaddle again if there was any marijuana in the vehicle and he advised that there was a little marijuana in the center console. Due to Clapsaddle's confession of the possession of marijuana, I detained him and conducted a search of the vehicle for marijuana. While searching the center console, I found a clear plastic bag that contained a green leafy substance that I know to be marijuana, from my training and experience as a Police Officer. I also observed one glass marijuana pipe with marijuana residue and one wood marijuana pipe with marijuana residue. Next to the pipes, was a plastic bag that contained metal screen filters for the pipes. Clapsaddle advised that the front passenger, later identified as Eddie Munoz, Texas Driver's License number xxxxxxxx, did not have any idea that the marijuana was in the vehicle. Clapsaddle was not in custody at this time. Due to Clapsaddle being in possession of marijuana, I placed him in custody for possession of marijuana. His vehicle was secured and then left in the parking lot per his request. Munoz contacted a ride and was released. Clapsaddle was then transported to Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Jail in The Woodlands, TX. This incident was recorded on Unit 75's camera system. The marijuana was weighed on a triple beam scale and showed to weigh 0.3 grams. The marijuana, pipes, and screens were labeled and placed in the Oak Ridge North evidence locker.

On 11-04-10 at approximately 1340 hours I, Officer Teske, was traveling S/B on Hanna Road near Robinson Road. There was a red 2002 Dodge Ram P/U, displaying TX LP # 32RTT6, traveling S/B in front of me. As the truck slowed for a stop sign at the intersection of Hanna and Robinson Road, I observed two of the brake lights were not working. The third brake light above the cab of the truck was the only brake light that was illuminated to the rear when the truck slowed. The truck made a right turn and continued W/B onto Robinson Road. I stopped the vehicle for the defective brake lights on Robinson Road near Blueberry Hill. As I was stopping the vehicle, I observed there were three passengers in the cab of the truck. The passenger in the center appeared to be moving around and appeared to be reaching under the seat, as the vehicle stopped. The other two passengers were not making any movements. Upon stopping, I made contact with the driver, identified by TDL xxxxxxxx as Sean Gordon, w/m, dob xxxx-82. The center passenger was identified by name and date of birth as Joe Richardson, w/m, dob xxxx-82 (TDL xxxxxxxx), and the front right passenger was identified by name and date of birth as Will Jones, b/m, dob xxxx-80 (TDL xxxxxxxx). I observed what appeared to be a 16 oz silver Busch Light beer can stuffed in the crack between the two front seats, where Richardson had been reaching when I stopped the truck. There was also a 16 oz Busch Light beer can on the floorboard under Richardson's feet. A check of Gordon's information on my MDT revealed that he had open Oak Ridge North warrants. Officer Nation confirmed he had warrants and came to my location. Gordon was arrested for the warrants and was released to Officer Nation (ORNPD case # 10P000913/5675). After placing Gordon under arrest, I had Jones and Richardson exit the vehicle. The 16 oz Busch beer can that was previously in the crack of the seat was now lying on the front passenger floorboard. The can was open, partially crushed, and was about 1/4 full. The beer was still cold to the touch. Richardson admitted that it was his beer. The remainder of the can was poured out on scene. Richardson was issued ORNPD citation 8002106 for Open Container Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle. Gordon was able to pay his warrants and was released from custody by the ORNPD Municipal Court. Richardson and Jones were left on scene with the vehicle.
