There is a potential for severe storms to occur with 50-60 MPH winds around 4AM-5AM, Tuesday morning, 10/26/10.

The DuPage County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management along with surrounding County emergency management agencies were notified by the National Weather Service of a severe set of thunderstorms with high sustainable and damaging winds over the next two to three days. Storm models indicate this system has the potential to be the most severe in over 7 years.
These storms are expected to enter our area between 4:00 AM and 9:00 AM tomorrow morning (10/26/10) with high winds continuing through Wednesday (10/27/10) afternoon.

Residents are advised to exercise extreme caution if travel is necessary and to secure any loose objects such as lawn furniture, etc. that may be easily blown around with the high winds.

During this period there is an increased risk of the loss of electrical power due to downed power lines. Residents are asked to contact Commonwealth Edison (1-800-EDISON1) to report power failures.

If you encounter a downed wire, STAY AWAY and call 9-1-1 immediately.

For updated information regarding the potential severe weather, please tune to your local television, radio, or internet weather broadcasts.
