Hoboken To Host 30th Annual Artists Studio Tour, Nov 6 & 7

Mayor Dawn Zimmer, the City of Hoboken, the Hoboken Reporter and The Hudson County Division of Cultural & Heritage Affairs proudly present the 30th Annual Hoboken Artists Studio Tour on Sat. & Sun. Nov. 6th -7th from noon to 6pm.

Free Self-Guided Walking Tour of Artists Studios & Galleries featuring work by over 150 local artists. Tour Maps will be available at Hoboken City Hall in Hoboken the day of the Tour (City Hall is located at 94 Washington Street) or as an insert in the Hoboken Reporter the week before the Tour.

Even though there are more than 41 stops on the tour, we have designed the tour so that you can walk from one studio or group exhibition to the next. You can also take the free shuttle bus which will be stopping at 7 or 8 locations around the mile-square city, including City Hall, the PATH station, the Neumann Leather Building, 38 Jackson Street (The Pudding Factory), Hoboken Historical Museum, 720 Monroe Street Arts Center & more. Tour maps & guides will be available on the day of the tour at City Hall, 94 Washington St. between 11:30 AM and 6:00 PM. or pick one up in advance as an insert in the Hoboken Reporter & Hudson Current Newspapers the week before.

As diverse as the art itself, the tour’s popularity draws artists from far beyond the banks of Hoboken. From the shores of international waters to our own metropolitan area, you will find more than 150 artists & art forms representing an exciting variety of media and design. Visitors will have a chance to meet the artists, photographers, sculptors & artisans in their own studios, where they can witness the creative process at work.

Media ranges from classical figurative realism and abstract expressionism to sculptures and photographic computer generated images; oil paintings, watercolors and acrylics; multi media collage and paintings on silk. Some of the featured artists this year include: Tim Daly (realist paintings & drawings), Adam Saynuk (macro photography & interactive “Mood Book”), Frank Hanavan (acrylic painter - best known for beautiful landscapes of Hoboken), Roslyn Rose (photographic montage), Kenneth Mueller (balance stone sculptures), Virginia Rolston Parrott (photography), Doug Auld (large realistic painter), Chapeau Design (furniture restoration), a group exhibition by the Paterson Arts Council, “Wishing Tree Installation” by students from the Elysian Charter School and much more.

The Hoboken Artists’ Studio Tour offers something for everyone, so don’t forget to bring your checkbook; most of the art will be available for purchase. And if you don’t see exactly what you want, you can place a special order directly with the artist.

Some establishments will be presenting live performances throughout the day. Local restaurants & cafes will be offering brunch & dinner specials in case you get hungry.

The Hoboken Artists Studio Tour is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the the Arts, administered by the Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs/Tourism Development and by the County of Hudson, Thomas A. DeGise, County Executive, and the Board of Chosen Freeholders.

We recommend that visitors take public transportation. Hoboken is accessible by PATH, NJ Transit Trains & Buses, Hudson Bergen Light Rail and NY Waterway Ferries. For additional information, visit: http://www.hobokennj.org/visit/how-to-get-here/
