Modesto, CA- Modesto Police homicide detectives have been continuing to follow-up on yesterday’s fatal shooting in West Modesto. Investigators have identified the shooting victim and the location of the crime scene.



On Wednesday October 20th, at about 9:22 p.m., medical personnel and law enforcement officers were called to the Burbank-Paradise Fire Department, located at 1313 Beverly Drive in west Modesto, for a shooting victim. The male victim was taken to the fire station by a citizen. The victim suffered from multiple gunshot wounds and paramedics transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he died.



The victim in this case has been identified as Douglas Corpeno, a 29-year-old Stockton resident. Through investigation, detectives discovered the scene of the shooting inside a residence in the 1700 block of Rouse Avenue, in west Modesto. Investigators have processed the crime scene and are continuing to follow-up on leads and attempting to identify the shooter(s). At this point, investigators have little suspect information.
