Modesto, CA- Modesto Police homicide detectives are investigating a late night shooting that resulted in one person’s death and police looking for help in identifying the shooter(s).

On Wednesday October 20th, at about 2122 hours, Stanislaus Sheriff deputies were called to the Burbank-Paradise Fire Department, located at 1313 Beverly Drive, for the victim of a shooting. The male victim was taken to the fire station by a citizen. The victim had suffered from at least one gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital, where he died.

Sheriff detectives began to investigate the case and have since contacted investigators from the Modesto Police Department, since the shooting is believed to have occurred within the city limits of Modesto. At this point, the Modesto Police Department homicide investigators have taken over this investigation and are in the process of locating the actual crime scene.

The victim is a Hispanic male in his late 20’s. His name will not be released until his identity is confirmed and next of kin is notified. No suspect information is available at this time.

Investigators are continuing to follow-up on leads and information obtained in the initial investigation. This is the City of Modesto’s tenth homicide of the year.
