POLICE BELIEVE MAN RESPONSIBLE FOR TWO ROBBERIES

Modesto, CA – Detectives believe the same man is responsible for two Modesto bank robberies. Police previously released photographs of the robber and still need the public’s help to identify him. Both banks were located inside of Cost-Less grocery stores.

The first robbery occurred on June 3rd, at about 1:30 pm, at the Guaranty Bank at 3801 Yosemite Boulevard. The second robbery was reported at about 4:55 pm on October 6th at 901 Carpenter Road. Detectives believe the same suspect approached the bank teller in both robberies and made demands for money after threatening to have a firearm. The robber fled the banks with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was hurt during either robbery.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his early 20’s, 5’5” tall, weighing approximately 155 pounds. The suspect was wearing a black baseball cap, dark sunglasses, and a black long-sleeved shirt over a gray colored t-shirt during the October robbery. Detectives believe he concealed his identity in the June robbery by wearing a dark colored wig.

Detectives have released several digital surveillance photographs of the suspect at the time of the October robbery. Detectives ask anyone who may recognize the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
