The practice of dog fighting is heinous and barbaric, and it is cruel and inhumane to animals and has no place in any civilized society. Dog fighting is outlawed in every state, and carries a third class felony in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for those found to engage in this terrible and senseless activity. Dog fighting promotes and fosters other criminal activity, such as illegal narcotic and unlicensed gun sales. Preventing and stopping dog fighting is a good and honorable goal of any community. If you have any Information about dog fighting in our community please contact the Steelton Borough Police Department at 717-939-9841 or 717-558-6900 or contact the Humane Society at humanesociety.com.
