Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated serial number
Location: 4995 Petaluma Blvd. North, Henny Penny’s Parking Lot

Suspect(s): Royce Justin Moorehead, 19 years old, Eureka resident

Summary:

On November 8, 2009 at approximately 11:54 PM, an officer patrolling the parking lot of Henny Penny’s restaurant located two subjects sitting in a parked vehicle to the rear of the restaurant. Upon further investigation, officers located a loaded handgun under the front seat of the car. The serial number had been removed from the handgun. Also located near the handgun was gang paraphernalia, a box of handgun ammunition and Marijuana. The driver, Royce Moorehead is a known gang member. Moorehead was arrested for the possession of a loaded firearm and possessing a firearm with the serial numbers removed. His passenger, Juan Quintero was cited for possession of Marijuana and released from the scene. This case is still currently under investigation.

Royce Moorehead was booked into Sonoma County Jail with bail set at $10,000.
