The majority of teens cite parents’ medicine cabinets and/or medicine cabinets in the homes of friends as MAJOR ACCESS POINTS.
Quarterly, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department hosts a prescription medication take back event.
Our next event will be: September 25, 2010 at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas (North Parking Lot)
354 Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024 from 9:00am-2:00pm.
The Sheriff's Department is in the process of installing secure drop-boxes at many of our facilities to facilitate the drop-off of unwanted prescription medications. We will announce when those sites are ready, but in the meantime unwanted medications may be dropped off during business hours at the Sheriff’s headquarters office at 9621 Ridgehaven Ct., San Diego, CA 92123.
