The Dallas Police Departments Northwest Patrol Division wants citizens living in the Oaklawn area to be aware of an overnight robbery in which the victim, a 49 year old male, was shot when he did not have any money to give to the suspects. The victim was walking home shortly before 1:00 am in the area of Shelby and Brown, when he was confronted by three black male suspects who pulled up in a dark colored vehicle. One of the suspects exited the vehicle and demanded the victims money. When the victim said he did not have any money, the suspect shot him. The vicitm then ran to the 2600 block of Oaklawn where he received help from someone who called 9-1-1. The victim was only able to describe the suspects as all in their early to mid 20's, around 150 lbs and wearing white t-shirts and dark jeans. Detectives will attempt to interview him when he is able to do so to get a better description of the vehicle. Please remember, that there is safety in numbers.
