2 Police Blotter items (PB): Dead Body Call, Burglary in Progress

Officers responded to 3760 Yale Way, on a welfare-check of a 70-year-old male who lived in the warehouse and had not been seen for about three weeks. Officers Merrill and Morales arrived and noticed an odor coming from inside the unit. The officers forced entry into the unit and located the deceased male. Because of the confined space and the amount of time the male was deceased inside the unit, Fire responded and provided a portable ventilation fan. At this point, it appears the death was due to natural causes.

Officers responded to a report of an in-progress residential burglary on Lake Mead Court, after a 17-year-old female reported a male was trying to break into her home. The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male, 20’s, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black baseball cap. Arriving officers located a broken garage door window; however, the suspect fled in an unknown direction. An extensive search of the neighborhood was conducted, but the suspect was not located.
