Arrest of "one of Allegheny County's most wanted fugitives". Read the WTAE News story about the incident.

PITTSBURGH -- One of Allegheny County's most wanted fugitives is now behind bars.

The sheriff's department announced the arrest of 60-year-old Glenn Robert Shenot. He was arrested Wednesday night in Crescent Township.

Shenot was wanted for violating the conditions of his probation.

In March of 2000, Shenot was charged with four counts of robbery, three counts of recklessly endangering another person, aggravated assault and several other charges. The charges stem from an incident when Shenot had robbed the same bank twice in a three-week period in the Bethel Park neighborhood.

Within minutes of the second robbery, Shenot was spotted in a vehicle matching the description given to Bethel Park Police as he attempted to flee. Shenot was finally apprehended after the vehicle he was driving crashed and caught fire.

After his arrest, Shenot pleaded guilty to the charges.

On July 19, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest because he violated the conditions of his probation.

On Wednesday night, sheriff's deputies received a tip that Shenot was now staying at a residence located in the 900 block of Harper Drive in Crescent Township.

Sheriff's deputies went to the address and were able to arrest Shenot without incident. He was then transported to the Allegheny County Jail where he is now being held without bond.
