UPDATE – 71 YEAR OLD MISSING MAN FOUND AND IS SAFELY HOME WITH HIS FAMILY

Jack Dixon, Jr., 71, was reported missing this morning from 701 North Madison Avenue. He was found this afternoon about 1:30 p.m. with the help and assistance of the many eyes and ears of the public and he is home safely with his family.
"Of particular note in finding Dixon is that fact that Nixle played a significant role," says Janet Pope Givens, Pasadena Police Department’s Public Information Officer. “Upon receiving the “Nixle” community alert text messages on her cell phone an astute City of Pasadena Department of Transportation employee forwarded the alert to First Transit (ARTS bus and Dial-A-Ride contractor). Subsequently, the driver of one of our ARTS routes identified this older gentleman as being on his bus. The driver contacted the First Transit dispatch office which in turn contacted PPD. This gentleman was then transferred by the bus driver at Raymond/Holly safely into police custody.
“This is an excellent example of how well Nixle works, and how well our community uses this technology, “ says PIO Givens. “We are happy that we had the additional medium in which to distribute the information which, ultimately lead to him being recognized and returned safely to his family.”
