City DPW workers will be utilizing hand held data collectors to read Water Meters beginning August 24th
The Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin reading water meters on Tuesday, August 24, 2010. DPW workers will be utilizing hand held data collectors. The information collected by the meter readers will be electronically transferred to our billing system. With this system, we are requesting homeowners with readable outside remote registers to read the inside water meter and the outside remote register. The inside meter is generally located in the basement, utility room, or crawl space and the outdoor remote register is a plastic reading device that is attached to an exterior wall. A postcard will be left and it is requested that the customer complete and return the postcard within 24 hours or as soon as possible. Completed postcards can be mailed to City Hall, 100 N. Harris Street, dropped off at City Hall or placed in the drop box located behind Comerica Bank, in parking lot 2.
If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Public Works, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at (734) 429-5624.
