Narrative:
Around 0730 hrs, an officer noticed a vehicle near San Jon and Harbor Blvd speed away as it ran a red light and continued to drive recklessly on Harbor Blvd. The officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle, but lost sight of it as it was a great distance away. Officers searched for the vehicle, but it was not located.
Then around 0805 hrs, officers noticed the same vehicle in the downtown Ventura area. They attempted to stop it, and the driver, later identified as Alejandro Zavalamedina, failed to yield. He then suddenly stopped the car and fled on foot. Officers went in foot pursuit. He was apprehended a short distance away, and taken into custody. It was determined that Zavalamedina was driving under the influence of alcohol, and also had a DUI warrant. He was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Jail for DUI, the DUI warrant, driving on a suspended license, and resisting an officer.
