* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR... CHEATHAM COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF ASHLAND CITY... DAVIDSON COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF... LP FIELD... NASHVILLE... EXTREME NORTHWESTERN MACON COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... ROBERTSON COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD... NORTHWESTERN RUTHERFORD COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... WEST CENTRAL SMITH COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... SUMNER COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF GALLATIN... WESTERN TROUSDALE COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... WILLIAMSON COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF FRANKLIN... WILSON COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF LEBANON...

* AT 111 PM CDT... LOCALIZED HEAVY RAINFALL OVER THE WARNED AREA WAS CONTINUING THIS AFTERNOON... AND STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO INTENSIFY THROUGH THIS EVENING. EXPECT ADDITIONAL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS OF 5 INCHES POSSIBLE. AS MUCH AS 3 TO 6 INCHES HAS ALREADY FALLEN OVER SOME AREAS AS OF THIS MORNING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE... TURN AROUND... DONT DROWN.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY.
