In the past few weeks the North Hollywood Area has experienced a trend of burglaries at retail stores that sell high quality sunglasses and eyewear. It appears that the suspects are targeting these locations specifically for this type of property.

If you are an employee or business owner of this type of location we are asking that you take the following steps to deter these crimes.

1. When closing, move the high quality eyewear to a secure location in the store, out of sight.

2. Leave the interior lights on to illuminate any possible criminal activity in and around the store.

3. Check the locks on the doors to verify that the locks are in good working order.

4. If you have an alarm, verify it is in good working order.

5. If you have camera surveillance, be sure it is working and recording at all times. Be sure that the recording device is secured and placed in an inconspicuous location.
