UPDATE SUSPICIOUS PERSON IDENTIFIED AS FAMILY FRIEND on Halesia Court

On August 3, 2010 at 3:11pm Orland Park Police responded to a 911 call at a residence in the 7500 block of Halesia Court. The caller, who was working at a home next door, reported that a male subject approached a garage service door at the home next door from where he was working. The caller said when the suspicious subject reached for the service door, he yelled at him and the subject immediately fled the area on foot eastbound toward Kruse School. The officers responding to the call were unable to locate the subject. There were no signs of forced entry into the home.

Detectives conducting the investigation were able to identify the suspicious subject as a 19 year old Orland Park man who is a friend of the family that lived at the home where the incident occurred. Detectives obtained video surveillance from the area that confirmed the subject’s identity. The man told detectives that he was out jogging and had stopped by the Halesia Court address to visit his friends. When nobody answered the door he walked around the side of the home and left the area on foot and continued his jog. The homeowners confirmed that they are friends with this subject and there was no other evidence of attempted unlawful entry into the home. This matter is resolved and the case closed.
