Sheriff's deputies were flagged down on Pacific Coast Highway by the victim who told them his 2000 Ford Ranger pick-up truck had just been stolen while he was surfing at Topanga Beach.

Investigation by sheriff's detectives over the following week led Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station deputies to Hollywood, where, with the assistance of West Hollywood Sheriff's Station and Sheriff's Transit Services Bureau deputies, the victim’s truck was found abandoned.

Additional investigation led sheriff's detectives to a hotel in the Hollywood area. A surveillance and traffic stop near Harold Way and St. Andrews Pl. resulted in the arrest of two suspects who were in possession of items that connected them to the theft of the pick-up truck.

Numerous additional items were recovered that may be recovered stolen property from other crimes and tools often used to commit burglaries and theft. Among the recovered items are watches and other jewelry, cell phones, pry bars, screwdrivers, gloves, pliers, and bolt cutters.
