The Cherry Valley police closed river access to the Kishwaukee River in Baumann Park. 
Recent heavy rains and flash flooding have resulted in the police department closing the boat ramp in Baumann Park for public safety reasons. The police department advises against any water recreation on the river. Swift currents and underwater debris pose an extreme hazard to swimming, boating and tubing. Access to the river will be closed until further notice.
