The City of Elgin has partnered with to provide the public with current crime information.

The public is now able to access Elgin crime information relevant to their concerns or interests through either the City of Elgin’s website at, or Crime data will be refreshed daily from the police department’s records management system, providing residents with timely information that is meaningful to them. This service, including customizable email alerts, is free to the public.

Viewers of the information may enter an address to search for information relating to crimes or police Calls for Service in their area. Each incident viewed will also display how far away the incident was from the address provided. Viewing options include the ability to search based on dates, areas and crimes, as well as public sex offender information. Citizens can set up their own email alerts and perform individualized crime analysis with the analytical tools provided. Neighborhood networking options will be available on August 3rd.
