Island Art Fair Traffic Advisory


Grand Ledge’s Island Art Fair will be held on Saturday August 7th, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During the time that the Art Fair is in progress, River Street will be closed to all through traffic. Local traffic, such as residents and guests of residents with addresses on River St, will be admitted to River Street during the Art Fair.

During the Fair’s hours of operation the following traffic restrictions will be in place:

West River St.

W. River Street will be shut down from Bridge Street to Harrison Street. Access to the public parking lot will be from W. Jefferson Ave. only.

W. River will be a one way street (west bound) from Harrison to W. Jefferson. West River residents will be able to access River Street using Harrison St., and exit W. River St. by traveling west to W. Jefferson Ave.

East River St.

E. River Street will be shut down between Bridge and the 200 block of E. River (adjacent to the Opera house.) Entry to the public parking lot adjacent to Ledge Clippers Barber shop will be by the Library entrance from E. Jefferson only.

E. River Street will be blocked off at the Jaycee Park Scout building. Residents will be able to access and exit E. River Street on Russell Street. Persons going to events at the Opera House will also be able to access their parking lot via Russell St. Persons entering as local traffic on Russell will be asked their destination by event staff at Jefferson and Russell. Local residents may post this placard on their dash and will be waived through. If more than one placard is needed by a household they will be available at the police department during business hours.
