Standiford between Conant and Dale(eastbound only) will be closed until at least 7:30am as police clear a major crash 
Modesto Police are investigating a major injury collision in northwest Modesto. Traffic delays could result this morning.
At about 2:50 am police received the report of a major collision at Standiford and Hahn Drives. When they arrived they found two men trapped within a badly damaged SUV. Preliminary reports are that the vehicle was traveling on Standiford, lost control, and struck at least one tree before overturning.
Rescue workers cautiously removed the men from the vehicle and they were transported to a local hospital with major, possibly life-threatening, injuries. Alcohol could be a factor in the crash.
Traffic investigators arrived on the scene at just after 4:00 am and will be conducting a thorough investigation. Eastbound Standiford will be closed from Dale to Conant for the next several hours. The closure could affect the morning commute. Police suggest avoiding the area until approximately 7:30 am.
