The Crystal Lake Police Department will be hosting the 2010 National Night Out on Saturday, July 31st, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM in downtown Crystal Lake.

This year’s event is a block party which will be located on Williams Street between Brink Street and Crystal Lake Avenue. The Crystal Lake Police have partnered with the Downtown Crystal Lake Main Street Association to provide our community one of the most interactive and family oriented National Night Out events in the area.

National Night Out is a nationwide event intended to help bring the community out in a partnership with local law enforcement to keep our streets safe and stand shoulder to shoulder against crime. During the event we will also be showcasing our TIP411 program that is sponsored by the Crystal Lake Crime Stoppers.

Admission is free and everyone is invited to enjoy events that include karaoke at the Raue Theater from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, a Baggo tournament with registration starting at 5:00 PM, face painting, a fire truck slide, contests, games and activities for the entire family. There will be police and fire vehicles on display along with the Crystal Lake Police Emergency Services Team.

“Pirates over 40” will be providing live music, on stage in the middle of Williams Street from 5:30 PM to 9 PM. Local food vendors will be available for those who come with an appetite.
