...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH TORRENTIAL RAINFALL WILL AFFECT ALLEN...BARREN...LOGAN...METCALFE...MONROE...SIMPSON AND WARREN
COUNTIES THIS AFTERNOON...

AT 125 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS WERE
TRACKING A CLUSTER OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH TORRENTIAL
RAINFALL. THESE STORMS EXTENDED FROM NORTHERN LOGAN COUNTY
NORTHEASTWARD INTO EASTERN BUTLER AND SOUTHERN GRAYSON COUNTY. THIS
ACTIVITY WAS MOVING EAST-SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE AND A HALF TO TWO AND A HALF INCHES PER HOUR
ARE OCCURING WITH THESE THUNDERSTORMS AND THEY WILL SLOWLY MOVE
ACROSS SOUTHERN KENTUCKY THIS AFTERNOON. IF YOU LIVE IN A LOW-LYING
OR FLOOD PRONE AREA...KEEP AN EYE ON WATER LEVELS AND BE PREPARED TO
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IF FLOODING BEGINS OR A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS
ISSUED.

* AT 136 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAINFALL MOVING
INTO THE REGION WITH RAINFALL RATES FROM 1.5 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR.
WITH 1 INCH OF RAIN ALREADY...AND AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES
EXPECTED MINOR FLOODING PROBLEMS ARE EXPECTED. THE CITY OF BWLING
GREEN IS INCLUDED IN THIS ADVISORY.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE
ADVISORY AREA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED OR PONDING
OF WATER IN URBAN OR OTHER AREAS IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
