Advisory

Beware, local bank e-mail scams are surfacing again.

Several Amarillo residents have received via e-mail a request for personal information supposedly from a local bank. In the e-mail, it asks you to download a file and fill in the information and send it back to the bank. The down loaded file asks for you name, account number and pin number. This is a fraudulent e-mail; please do not respond to this request. If you receive a similar e-mail please disregard the request and/or contact your bank directly. For security reasons, banks weather local or nationwide will not send out a request for this type of information through the internet. Attached is copy of the bogus e-mail.
