This year the “Independence Day” fireworks are scheduled for Sunday, July 4, 2010 at dusk. The Westlake Police Department wishes to inform the public of several important parking restrictions in and around Clague Park. All of the parking bans are necessary to allow emergency vehicles access to the area.

Motorists will not be permitted to park on either side of Clague Road. This is especially important this year due to the construction project. In addition, there is no parking on either side of Horseshoe Boulevard. Motorists must park on Hilliard Boulevard. Auxiliary Police Officers will be on hand to assist. Parking in Clague Park is restricted to those motorists with parking passes and handicapped permits ONLY.

We will have the “No Parking” restriction on the fire hydrant side on numerous side streets surrounding the park. We will mark the areas with a temporary signs. The signs have a florescent orange background and black lettering.

Those individuals viewing the fireworks are restricted from being inside several safety zones within the park. We will mark the zones with signs, fencing, and barrier tape. These restrictions are necessary for the City to comply with state and national laws governing public safety. Police and Firefighters ask for cooperation and voluntary compliance with all of the restrictions.
