Police Charge Man in Convenience Store Robbery

Jackson Police have charged Hywon Reed, 35, of Jackson, with Aggravated Robbery in connection with the June 16 robbery of Hollywood Express, 2255 Hollywood Drive.

On June 16 around 10: 10 p.m., a man entered the business, selected items and placed them on the counter. When the clerk opened the register, the man displayed a knife, reached over the counter, grabbed the cash drawer and left on foot in the direction of Days Inn. The clerk was not injured.

As the investigation into the Hollywood Express robbery continued, forensic evidence linked Reed to the crime scene. Subsequently, investigators were able to identify him as the robber.
